Hope for the better

Recently, everything seem not right. I have problem at work. I am trying hard to improve my performance, coping with stress of meeting deadlines and figuring how to solve those work related issues. I feel rather demoralised actually. I did put in effort but the result is not fruitful. Quite worried and stressed about it. But I guess I have no choice but to buck up and work harder. Unless I have other options....

Another problem is my rashes. Is it on and off. Today I am on MC again due to the rashes. I went to see my family clinic doctor. He could not find the root cause of my problem. He refered me to the national skin center. He booked an appointment for me next Monday at 6 pm. That's the earliest slot that is available. I find the timing quite rushing as my offical knock off time is 5.30 pm.

Haiz. I guess there are ups and downs in ones life. Currently, I am properly at the bottom of the hill.

Just now, I was watching a channel 8 drama and I was quite inspired by what the character said in the show. She said that she likes jogging but everytime when she jogs she wants to give up because it is very tiring but its the goal of wanting to reach the destination that keeps her going. I should learn from her. Don't give up so easily and ultimately, I believe I will reach my desired destination.

I hope that everything will eventually work out fine. Pray hard for a better tomorrow.

A busy Saturday

Yesterday was a really busy day for me. I went to CPF Board at Jurong East with my mum to settle some admin stuff. Thereafter, I had to rush to Fangqi's house warming at Jurong West St 64 at 1 pm. After the house warming, I have to attend my little nephew, Joshua's 1 year old birthday at the community centre near his house at Jurong West too.

I really envy Fangqi and Jiamin for having their own house. It is so nice to decorate their own house. I also want to have one myself but it is too expensive.

This is the gift that we gave Fangqi for her house warming. It works like a gift voucher except that it is in a visa card form.

Today I am on MC as I am down with rashes. This morning I woke up and felt extremely itchy all over my body. I found big red patches all over my body and I freaked out.

Actually, I have this rash since Monday. I went to see a doctor at the Arcade. After taking the medicine given by the doctor, I was better yesterday but today my condition turns bad. I went to see my Family clinic doctor. He gave me a lot of medicine to take. After I have taken 8 pills of medication for rashes and applied medicated cream on the affect area, my itchiness and red patches subsided. The doctor could not tell me the exact root cause of my rashes but I suspect is due to the sashimi I took yesterday with dear during lunch. I tend to have allergy when the seafood I consume is not fresh.

I feel that recently my health condition is not that good. Last week, I was on MC due to fever, flu and sore throat. And this week, I am down with rashes. Haiz... I realised that I have been falling sick more often ever since I started working. Maybe is because there is no fresh air ventilation in the office so all the germs are circulating in the office.

Btw, tomorrow marks my 7th months with PwC. Time really flies.... I am getting busier with meeting deadlines due to the peak periods. Tomorrow I will have to get more work done!!!

Anyway, here are some recent events that took place in my life:

Driving License

I passed my driving first attempt on 24 June 2008. Hurray! But I have no car to drive. Sob!

Caili is back

My sister is back from USA. I am really happy to have her back. She bought me a Nike sport tank top and a body mist from Victoria Secret. I love it!! She also bought some snacks like Carmel popcorns and chocolate. Simply irresistible!

Today is also her result release day. I accompanied her to check her results online. To her surprise, she did very well. She scored 5 As and 2 Bs with a GPA of 3.71/4.0 for her first semester. Congratulation gal!

SMU Commencement 2008

I attended my graduation ceremony in July at Suntec Convention Centre. Finally, I have graduated with a Honours in Business Management.

Relaxing Day!

Last friday, I took annual leave to rest. That day, I went out with Dear to Adam Road Market to have lunch. I miss the prawn noodles. I used to eat that during my first year in SMU when I was studying at the old campus.

After our fulfilling lunch, we headed to East Coast Park for cycling. The weather was extremely hot. Almost unbearable! We have not been to East Coast Park for quite some time. I love the beach there! It is very relaxing to cycle along the beach. We went to our usual bicycle shop to rent double bike. The rental was $8 for 2 hours + 2 free mineral water.

We cycled for an hour and went to rest at the beach. Thereafter, we headed to the food centre to have dinner. We ordered Satay, Sambal Stingray, Kang Kong, rices and Sugar cane juice. It was very yummy!

After the dinner, we realised that we were only left with 5 min before our rental time out so we cycled crazily back to the shop to avoid penalty. Luckily, we made it in time.

I realised that I have not been blogging much ever since I started working. Probably, I am too tired after work to do anything at all. Recently, I started to feel that I am getting old. My memory is deteriorating. Sometimes I can't remember what I did 1 min ago. That's really terrible! Sigh~

Dear and I went to 'The Ship Restaurant" at Shaw Tower to celebrate my birthday this year. It was our 2nd visit to the restaurant. The food there is average only but I find that the place is quite cozy.

This teddy bear with a heart which seats on top of the ladtop is his. This bear comes in a pair. One for me and one for him. He gave it to me during our 1st month anniversary. (long long ago)

I gave him this big donkey 2 years ago during Christmas.

I bought him this Rubic cubes a few months ago. After watching, "Pursuit of Happiness", he was so inspired by the guy and wanted to be like him. In one of the scenes in the movie, the actor managed to solve the rubic cubes in a car ride. Dear wanted to do that too. Unfortunately, till now he hasnt managed to solve it. As you can see below, each side of the cube is still in a mixture of colours.

We did this masterpiece together last year. The girl on the left is supposed to be me and the boy beside her is supposed to be him. But the boy seems to look like a Malay. I think he has designed it wrongly.

Yesterday, I went out with my colleague, Cherry. I was her 'model' for her makeup and hairdo lesson. After the makeup, we went to Tanjong Pagar market for lunch and then we went to several bridal studios to try out some gowns. I had a great time!

I just realised that I have not been blogging for almost a month!

Work
I have been very busy ever since I started working in PWC. Working and studying is 2 totally different kind of life. My usual work routine: Every weekday, I have to work up early in the morning at 6.45 am to prepare for work. Reach office before 8.30 am to have a quick breakfast and then start working. Then in the afternoon around 12 noon, I will either have lunch and go for shopping with my colleagues or exercise and then have a quick bite. After lunch, I will be working and working again until about 5.30 pm or so I will knock off.

I have about 7 days of training during the first 2 weeks. Training was generally relaxing except during the time when I have to do case exercises which stresses me up. Apart from that, I love training as I get to learn new things and also I can go home on time. Heehee...

After working 1 month for PWC, I am better oriented with the company and my job but still there are a lot of new things to be learnt. So far, my workload is still manageable but I think it is going to get busier. I have been going home on the dot during the first 2 weeks. For the 3rd and 4th week, I knocked off at around 5.45pm to 6.30pm. The trend seems to be getting later and later. Sob!

Friends
Last friday, I met up with Fangqi, Fangmin and Sijin at Vivo for dinner and shopping. We had a great time updating each other about our lives. Fangqi seems very happy about her marriage life. She is busy with renovating her new home. I am really happy for her to have found a great husband.

Fangmin is getting prettier. She has her hair rebonded and her complexion is very smooth now. (So envy!) She is also more and more trendy in her dressing. (I feel like an auntie!!! Sob sob...) Recently, she joined ballroom dancing with her friends and she is very enthu about it.

As for my dear Sijin, she is adorable as usual. She is very busy with her school and part-time job. And she will be going to Japan in April! (I want to go too!) Finally, her mum has allowed her to travel with her friends.

Yesterday, I met up with Huiyue for shopping at Orchard Road. We bought some clothes from Far East and Isetan. I also accompanied her to hunt for her prom dress for her NTU Grad Nite. I am considering whether to go for my uni grad nite too. It will be held at Fullerton too but the ticket costs $70.

Dear
I have been meeting dear almost everyday after work at SMU. Last Monday, we went to watch 10,000 BC at The Cathay. It was a very nice movie. Worth watching! Dear is currently very busy with school as it is the peak projects period and also the final exam is just round the corner. So during our meet up, we just have dinner and shop for a while then go home.

Driving
Yesterday was my 6th driving session. I have drove on the public road twice already. It was much more fun to drive on the real traffic than in the driving circuit. I feel that I am gaining more confidence in my driving but I still need to improve on my foot pedal coordinations.

I have also passed my Final Theory Evaluation last Thursday. This coming Thursday, I will be taking the actual Final Theory Test. Hopefully, I can passed. Can't wait to book for my Practical Driving Test Date.

Happy Valentine's Day

This year is our 2nd Vday together. We have been together for almost 2 years. Time really flies....

I received 3 presents and a cake from him today. 2 presents are for Vday and 1 is for my Bday this coming Saturday. So happy! I love lotsa presents. Heehee...

Another thing that makes me happy is that I finally managed to get my Provisional Driving Liscence (PDL)! I got the PDL on wednesday. After I have gotten my new spectacle, I immediately went to apply for the PDL and manage to pass the eyesight test. Heng! The PDL costs me $25 and have 6 months validity so I must pass my driving before Aug this year. Tomorrow will be my 1st driving practical. Kinda excited! I wanted to read up my advanced theory textbook but now I am only at page 30. Still have long way to go.

I will be starting work at PWC next monday. Soooooooooo nervous!!!! I have only read 2 chapters of Income Tax. I think I need to be more disciplined as I need to finish my reading before monday. Haiz....

Yesterday, Qiao qin, Sokwee and I celebrated Huiyue's 24th birthday at Coffee Club Orchard. We had a great time and I think Huiyue enjoyed herself too. It was nice to see her smiling all the way.

A Day at the Zoo

Today, I finally went to zoo with dear! The last time I stepped into zoo was during primary 6. More than 10 years ago! The zoo today is totally different was what I recalled the last time. It is so much better. I have a wonderful day at the zoo.

Dear was so funny today. We were at the cheetah enclosure looking at them then he suddenly sneezed so loudly that shocked the two cheetah causing them to jump. Haha...Really surprising. Dear practically sneezed the whole day at the zoo. Don't know what's wrong with his nose. Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves a lot today!

27 dresses

I went to watch the movie "27 Dresses" alone yesterday at The Cathay. I watched this movie alone because everyone is busy except me. (I am still having my holiday until 18th Feb 08 when my permenant job commences). This is the 3rd movie that I have watched by myself. It is not too bad to watch a movie alone. I luv this movie! It is one of the sweetest romance shows that I have ever watched. Most of the dresses are so pretty. Thumb up!

After the movie, I walked all the way from Orchard to Raffles Place to have my work medical checkup at Shenton Medical Group. The checkup took about 30 min. The most surprising thing at the medical centre is that I knocked into 2 of my poly friends - Li Ting and Dennis. Both of them just came back from Australia and will be commencing their work really soon just like me. It was nice to see my old friends again.

After the checkup, I went to GNC to buy some supplements for my eyes. I think I seriously need to invest some money for eye care. I bought this biberry supplement which according to the sales staff is very good for the eyes. Dear's mum is also eating the same supplement and she is a pro in such stuff so I think it is good for me to get one too. The supplement is really expensive - costs $77 and can last only for 1 month.

Thereafter, I went to Marina Square and Millenia walk to hunt for my spectacle frame. I purchase my frame from Spectacle Hut at Marina Square. It costs $100 after 20% discount. The service there is really excellent. One of the girls help me to take pictures of me wearing a few spectacles so that I can see which one I look the best. And the other girl gives me feedbacks and suggestions on all the spectacles that I have tried on. I spent more than an hour there and they still treat me very nicely. Never find me troublesome or irritating. I feel very satisfied with their services.

I met dear in school after that and we had dinner at BK. He gave me a pink rose, which he gotten from his friend.

Then he accompanied me to Paris Miki for eyes checkup. I did the checkup and the optician said that my degree has increased but he asked me to go home and rest first and come another day for the test as I was very tired yesterday. He wanted to do a more accurate checkup. So I gonna visit him again tmr afternoon. He recommended me to put eyedrop if my eyes are dry. I bought this eyedrop called "Refresh' which he claimed is very good. It comes with 30 dispoable tubes which can last for 1 month.

Driving class

About 3 weeks ago, Sijin and I enrolled in Bukit Batok Driving Center for driving lessons. I realised that learning driving from a school is much more expensive as compared to learning from a private instructor. The registration fee alone costs $86 and it is complusory to attend 4 theory lessons when you enroll in driving school even if you have already passed the theory tests . This apply to my case. 3 years back I have already passed my basic theory test but now I have to seat through 4 theory lessons and each lessons cost about $18. It is soooo expensive.

Today, I have attended 2 final theory classes - One in the morning and the other in the afternoon. And previously, I have already attended 2 basic theory classes with Sijin. Thus, I have completed the 4 theory classes. Now what I need to do is to take the final theory evaluation test before proceeding to take my final theory test which is on 20th Mar 2008. Thereafter, I will be able to book my practical test date. So troublesome!

But now I am having some problem applying for my provisional diving liscence (PDL), which I need before I can practice driving on the road. In order to get the PDL, I need to pass an eyesight test and pay $25. The sad case is that I can't pass the eyeright test. I have no problem with the colour test but when it comes to distance reading, I have some problem. So now I need to make a new spec before I can apply for my PDL again. And this hinder my schedule. Haiz....

I gonna try to hunt for a spec frame tmr and then on thur I gonna go down to Paris Miki to get my lenses. Hopefully everything will be settled by this week. Pray hard that I can get my PDL asap!!!

Fangqi invited a few of her close friends and I for a Dim Sum buffet at Goodwoodpark Hotel. This is a get-together session to celebrate her ROM which was held a few days before. The food at the hotel is nice especially the durian pudding. So yummy! After the buffet, I went to Suntec City to meet Huiyue for career fair 2008. She will be graduating at the end of April so she plans to look for a job. Here are some pictures taken at Goodwoodpark Hotel:

20th Jan 2008, Sunday

Dear and I went to the Carlton Wedding Fair 2008 in the afternoon. The event was from 1.30pm to 5.30 pm. It costs $20 nett per couple who pays by UOB card. I find it value for money as this fair provides fashion show, buffet lunch, door gift and a tour of the wedding site. The fashion show was good. We were seating right in front of the stage so we got a great view of all the models. The models are beautiful and some of the gowns are nice. The buffet lunch was prepared by Wah Lok. It was very delicious especially the Shark Fin Soup. Yummy! They mainly served chinese food. There were also a wide varieties of dessert such as cheese cakes, tiramisu, chocolate cake, durian cakes, honey drew sago......simply mouth watering!

However, the people there were ultra kiasu. You must really chong to get food. We didn't manage to try about 4 to 5 dishes as some inconsiderate people just pile up as much food as possible on their plates. Some can even juggle 4 plates with both of their hands. Applaud! Although it was really stressful to have to fight to get food over the lunch buffet, overall, the wedding fair was good.

Finally, I met up with Jinling! I can't remember when was the last time that I met her. I think we have not met for more than a year! It was really nice to see her again. She is becoming thinner! Must eat more. She said she is too stressed up with work and her part-time study at SIM.

Anyway, we went to Ichiba Sushi at Wisma to have dinner and thereafter, we just shop in town. I had a great time going out with her. Miss her so much!

Today, I accompanied my sister to her secondary school to get her O'level result. It was quite upsetting that she failed her English. She got a D7 for her English but the rest of her results were quite good. She got 4 As and 1B for her other subjects. She is very depressed over her results as she would not be able to join the direct poly admission program (DPA) to ngee ann accountancy. She has to pass her english in order to go into DPA but now......The DPA program is supposed to start next week and now she does not have to attend anymore.

I helped her called up NP to enquire if we could appeal. The staff said that we could appeal for conditional admission under DAE but the chances are low. Moreover, the DAE results will only be known in late mar or early apr. They advised us to apply for DAE as well as JAE (Joint admission program) just in case she didn't get the DAE, she can still fall back on the JAE courses. The JAE results will be known in Feb which is much earlier than the DAE. I accompanied her to np to apply for both programs. For the DAE, she has to retake her English O'level as a private candidate this year.

Ever since the release of her O'level result, my sister seems to be very dejected. I wonder how I can cheer her up.

Relationship

Recently, there is some serious problem between my aunt and uncle. Apparently, there is a 3rd party involved. The 3rd party is staying at their house. They actually rented out a room to this woman. If I am not wrong my uncle actually committed adultery with her. This makes my aunt extremely upset. The worst thing is my uncle and aunt actually fighted and my aunt ended up injured twice. The worst injury was yesterday. She was bruised quite seriously and had to be sent to the hospital. Now she is under protection against my uncle.

I actually saw my uncle at Suntec yesterday. He was squating down and eating chips. He looked totally in dazed. When he saw me, he was shocked. He told me he was waiting for someone. I wondered if he was waiting for that woman. Then he told me not to tell my aunt about it. I just can't believe that a couple that has been together for more than 20 years will end up this way. It is very scary indeed. I have heard many more horror stories about married couples - all ended up in tragedies. This makes me lose faith in marriage. I wonder why would couples who are so loving during courtship will end up in divorce after marriage. If its going to be this way, then why marry in the first place?

I think it is really difficult to maintain a good marriage. A lot of people say that man changes after marriage. They will be a totally different person. ( It could be good or bad). Normally, a divorce is due to a 3rd party. And the person who wavered is usually the man. I just don't understand why guys are so easily tempted. Some men who wavered even blamed their wifes for not maintaining their attractiveness, not being understanding enough, too naggy, too boring etc. All the excuses!!! This just sound like guys are a bunch of idiots.

When I was young, I used to picture a relationship like a fairytale. But now I realised that no such thing exist. My bf does treat me quite well but its nothing like what you see in a sweet romance movie or fairytale. This is reality. There are so many things that I hate in a guy. For instance:

3) Stingy

4) Ungentlemanly

5) Disrespectful

and many more....

Essentially, what I want to say is: all girls out there must really open their eyes wide enough to look out for the right one. And if they really found the right guy, they must cherish the person and maintain the relationship.

Today, I went to meet dear again after his class. We went to have dinner at a food court opposite National Library.

I love these dishes. Really yummy. The stingay cost $10 but the portion is a lot. The Sze Chuan chicken costs $6 and the Sambal Kan Kong costs $6 too. It is value for $.

Today is new year eve. In fact, in another 30 min, it will be 2008. Time really flies. Overall, 2007 has been a good year for me. Hopefully 2008 will be even better. The coming year will be very special as it is the first year I step into the working society. This afternoon I watched "Pursuit of Happiness" with dear and his mama. It was a motivational movie. I like Will Smith acting. He is really good.

In the late afternoon, I went jogging before heading with dear to meet Jezlin and her ex-boyfriend, Juxuan (we nicknamed him "Juhua"). We had dinner at one of the eateries opposite Beauty World. The food was soso only. In total, it costs about $55. Kinda expensive considering the portion was quite small. Here are some pictures we took at the dinner:

After dinner, we decided to go to Jurong Point to watch "Alien vs Predators 2" but the tickets were all sold out. So we just shopped around the mall. There are a lot of new shops at Jurong Point. I haven’t been there for ages. I bought a packet of Taiwan mochi from John Little. It looks yummy! Gonna eat it first thing in the morning of 2008. Today, we have a great outing. Hope to hang out with them again.

I have just watch the first series of "Coffee Prince". It is really nice! I like the leading actress a lot. She is so cute! Usually, I watch drama from http://www.crunchyroll.com/ but there is some problem watching this drama there so I watch it at http://www.mysoju.com/ instead. The video from soju is clearer than cruchyroll but one series is broken up into my parts so it is quite troublesome to load each of them. Anyway, all these are FOC so I shouldn't complain too muh. I simply can't believe that I have graduated. It feel great as I don't have to worry about buying textbooks from school forum, printing notes and frantically preparing for lessons. However, I am still not fully considered a graduate as I have one final project to complete (BSM Israel). The presentation is due on 12 Jan 2008 and my group has not already started with the project. I gonna be more disciplined and get down to some serious work soon. After the presentation is done, I still have about 1 month before my work commence. My work at PWC will start on 18 Feb 2008. I better do some preparation before hand but now I am in 'Slacking Mode'.

I will be signing up for driving lesson soon. Kinda excited about it. About 4 years back, I have already taken the basic theory. So now I am left with final theory and practical. I will most likely enroll in bukit batok driving school. Gotta drag Sijin along to learn driving with me.

In addition, I am also planning to pursue an education in accounting. Kinda regretted dropping my double degree in accountancy. I should have endured and by now I would have graduated with 2 degrees. Haiz. Anyway, since it is irreversible to take double degree now, I am considering either doing ACCA now or MBA in a few years time (need experience before I can take MBA). Ultimately, I aim to get my CPA so I would need either an accounting degree or master in order to get my CPA. I will probably check out the various schools that offer ACCA soon.

Today, early in the morning, dear and I went to Raffles Place to shop at G2000 sales. We bought a lot of clothes. At the Raffles Place outlet, I bought 1 blazer, 1 matching skirt and a brown shirt. Total cost is $122. He bought 2 shirts and a pant which cost $130. We had lunch at the Golden Shoe Market. We had Nasi Lemak at my favourite stall. Each plate costs $2.50 only. There are drumstick, fish, eggs etc. A lot of items. Its worth the money. Here's the picture of the Nasi Lemak.

Here's the Espirit watch that dear bought me for christmas. I like it a lot. It is very pretty.

We continue our G2000 spree at Raffles City outlet. I bought another blazer and a matching pant which costs $93. So in total I spent $122 + $93 = 215 !!! I have spent a lot today. As for him, he bought one more shirt which costs $42.

I have finally finished writing my freaking 10 pages long global risk management report. I am so sick of it that I didn't even bother to edit it. What I am just afraid is plagiarism. Hopefully nothing will happened to my essay. Actually, I have no idea what I am writing but heck it. No more time for me to write. I need to study for my Thursday Exam.

I can't wait for exam to be over. There are so many things to do after exam. Firstly, I will be going to Israel on 6 dec. Secondly, I will be going out with my friends to shop and slack around. And many many more things. I need to lose weight too! I have been eating so much lately. Its time for me to shape up.

Xmas Concert

I was trying to book online ticket to a Christmas Jazz concert at Esplandne. After spending quite sometimes on the booking, I manage to get a good seat. The ticket cost $20 per person. However, the unfortunately thing is that I can't seem to proceed with the card payment. I tried 4 times and everytime it was unsuccessful. I called him to ask if he could use his card for the purchase and he said he will do it later. Hopefully we can go for the concert.

Community Centre Dinner

Today I accompanied my grandmother to the community centre dinner. I usually go with her to this dinner every year. However, I didn't enjoy the dinner this time. There were two witches that kept criticised us which made me super pissed. My grandma tried to take some food from the dishes and those two witches were slow in grabbing the food and then one of them commented that eating too much duck will die of heart attack and she directed that to us. How rude! The other witch or rather called her Old Heck commented that I have no table manner for I was playing with my hp at the dinner. How ridiculous! She herself was reading a story book during dinner. Who is uncultured here? I simply just stand these two bitches, witches or 38, whatever they are. I was so angry that I glared at them and simply scolded them back indirectly by commenting on them to my grandma. Supposedly make it audible for them. This two '38' really make my dinner so unenjoyable. The fact that I have to see them while eating my dinner is so revolting! I was so angry till I feel like splashing my hot chinese tea on their ugly faces and slapped them hard.

My Brother

Another issue is my brother. Ever since 2 weeks ago, we had some sort of argument, he has been giving me cold shoulder. Actually it is not really an argument. This is what happened: That day (Tuesday), my sister finished her last paper for O'level. So my mum decided that all of us go out to have buffet at orchard to celebrate. My brother planned to go to orchard with his pajamas (old t-shirt and shorts - those that you will wear at home or to sleep). I told him to change into outing clothes and asked him not to wear that. And BANG! His EGO is 'hurt'. He was offended by what I said and refused to go to buffet and even to pick up the phone when I tried to call him to persuade him to join us.

From that day, we have never talk. I just can't believe he is sooooo PETTY! He is taking things too seriously. Anyway, his attitude has changed totally. He is like a stranger to me. I have no idea what's wrong with him. He used to be very adorable and obedient but now he is totally the opposite. He doesn't seem to care about anything especially studying. He is gaming 24/7. His grades are falling. He also doesn't really want to communicate with anyone of us. It would be a miracle for him to talk more than 3 sentences to us. He seems to be totally ignorant of his surroundings. Next year will be his O'level. I wonder how he is going to pass when he is not going for reminders and not doing his homework. Haiz. Really a total headache. He said we doesnt care about him but we do care. If I don't care, I won't be writing a chunk of things about him in my blog.

My Grandfather

The saddest things of all is that my grandfather is diagnoised with 3rd stage lung cancer. His treatment will be taking drugs and injection. He has to go to the hospital for checkup every week. The doctor says that there is only 30% chance of recovery. I can't believe that's happening to my kin. I was really upset when I heard the news. From this, I realised that life is really precious and that nothing is more important than family. My grandfather has taken care of me since young. I still remember all the sweet memories that I have when he brings me out when I was a kid. He used to bring me to playground, to downstairs to buy toys and many other things. Although we don't talk a lot, I know he dotes and care about me. Now what I can do is to try to spend more time with him and also to buy nice food that he likes to eat. His favourite food is Char Siew Bao. After exam, I shall go hunt for the best Bao in Singapore for him to eat.

Study Week

This week is my study week. This is also the last study week that I will have as I will be graduating this semester. I haven't started studying for my exam at all but luckily I only have 1 paper (Strategy) and it is next Thursday.

Lately, I have been slacking and trying to write my Global Risk Management Essay. There are 3 main questions which I have to answer for the essay and I have to read a freaking 70 plus pages report from IMF before I can write it. It is a 10 pages essay. Now I have only answered 1 question and have only written 3 pages. Still have 7 pages more to go. So sian! Those questions are so challenging!

Anyway, on Tuesday, I went out to meet him in Orchard to relax. We went to watch "The Game Plan" at The Cathay. It is a really funny and heart-warming movie. I will give it a 4.5 stars out of 5. Highly recommended!!

Anyway, after watching the movie, we indulged ourselves to Gelare Ice cream at PS!!! Since its a Tuesday, the waffle ice cream are 50% off, so it is quite worth it. I love the waffle ice cream there!!! Yummy!

After dessert, we walked all the way to Paragon to have dinner at Soup Restaurant. He suggested we eat there, since I have never tried the food from Soup Restaurant. We ordered several dishes and the bill cost around $45!!! Very expensive. Anyway, here's the signature dish of the restaurant which I quite like. The chicken is really tender and I find the ginger sauce (in the center) quite special.

Sunday

Yesterday, I went out with my mum and Sijin in the morning to Pasir Ris to have our herbal hair treatment. This is the 3rd time I am having the treatment. I hope it will really help me gain back my thick hair. The treatment yesterday was good as it wasn't as crowded as compared to our 2nd visit. My hair treatment cost $24 while my mum's cost $23. We also bought a hair loss shampoo which cost $20 after discount.

Thereafter, we took a bus to White Sand to have our lunch. The lunch was quite disappointing. The 3 of us ordered a claypot set but it is pathetically small and not delicious. After this my mum went home while Sijin and I continue our shopping spree. Sijin brought me to a flea market at Zouk. It was super crowded. Can barely see anything. We have to pushed through the crowds. I didn't manage to get anything but Sijin managed to get 2 tops - One long sleeve $2 and an Adidas Jacket $15. Both are 2nd hand but she likes it a lot.

With that, we headed to Far East Shopping Centre to have our dinner at the usual eating place. We shopped around there and I finally managed to get a top. The top is for my work next year. We have great fun shopping together yesterday!

Saturday

I had my strategy presentation today. It seems like we didn't really do a good job as we got bombarded by a lot of people with difficult questions. After the presentation, I went to meet my mum at Tiong Bahru to have our facial. I have a new beautician called Diana. I have a relaxing facial. Enjoyed it a lot! She is much better compared to the previous one. After facial, we just shop around and then headed home.

Friday

Thursday

Accompanied him to Funan Kimage to cut his hair at night and then we had dinner at the sushi restaurant at Funan. The mango pudding is excellent. Love it a lot! Thereafter, we went to watch Stardust at Cineleisure. It is really a great movie, highly recommended. I will give it 4 stars out of 5. By the time the movie ended, it was already 1 plus in the morning so we took a cab home.

Today is my mum's 48th birthday. About a week ago, my sister and I had ordered a cake for her from Prima Deli. Its a 1 kg mango cake (my grandparents and mum's favourite). We went to collect the cake at around 5 pm.

We celebrated our mum's bday at 7 plus at night. The cake is really delicious. My brother practically ate a quarter of it. Here are some pictures taken:

Yesterday, he and I went to buy new hp. Our contracts have expired so we decided to get a new hp. Both of us got the same model: Nokia E65. Initially, we wanted to buy 6500 slide but it was expensive ($418) and its out of stock. So we decided to get E65 which costs $268. Both of us have the $100 voucher which we use it to offset the price. Moreover, I traded in my old hp (worth only $50) so in the end I paid $118 for the hp.

What I am disappointed is that I realised the hp doesn't have radio function!!! But the good thing is there is 256 MB memory card which I can store a lot of mp3 and pictures

I bought the red model while he bought the cocca model.

Daylight Robbery!!!

I am feeling really pissed about my BSM trip. My prof just emailed us stating that the cost of the trip has increased. At the start of the semester, we have already paid a deposit of $500 to secure a place for the trip and we are supposed to pay up the remaining $1500. Then just a while ago, he sent us an email stating that now we have to pay $2350 instead of the $1500 balance. So now the cost will be $500 + $2350 = $2850. The worst thing is this amount only covers return air tickets, taxes and land arrangements (hotel + coach), daily breakfast, most buffet dinners at the places where we stay (~2.5*-3*), and about 3 lunches. That's so sian!!! We still need to fork out money for some meals. Moreover, this amount also does not include Jodarn Visa ($71.45) and Travel Insurance (About $110).

The most horrifying news is that he wants us to pay tips of US3 and US4 per day to the driver and tour guide respectively. So 10 days will be US70 approx equivalent to SG105 !!! Isn't that ridiculous! I don't want to pay tips to these people. My family doesn't print money. I think its too expensive.

So factoring all these cost in total it will be:

How I wish I could celebrate xmas this year in a cold country like Europe. It would be very memorable to me especially when this year is my final year in school. Anyway, I think it is too late to book ticket for Europe now. I read in the newspaper that most of the flights are fully booked. That's so sad. I wonder when can I have a white xmas in a romantic country. Guess my 2007 Dec plan will just be going to that boring Israel country for 10 days and back to SG to rush for the final presentation and then get ready for work in PWC. Sound super duper sian.

I got a job!

Yesterday, I have accepted PWC's offer job as coporate tax associate. In the contract, I indicated that I will be commencing work on 2nd Jan 2008. (Is it too soon? But I can't wait to earn $$$) Anyway, I sent back the contract by mail. Hopefully, the HR will receive it soon as the deadline is next friday. I will probably give them a call next Tuesday to check if they have received my contract and also to clarify some issues. I hope I have made the right decision.

A few days back, I received the offer from MOE too but after much consideration, I think PWC offers better prospects. My ultimate aim is to teach in teritary education so by choosing PWC, I could be specialised in tax and also I could purpuse higher education. I was surfing the master programme in SMU and NTU. Both are quite attractive.

I didn't go for the Credit Suisse written examination as I don't think I will like working in product control.

SMU: Master in Professional Accounting (Part-time: 2 years. Cost $26k. Up to 4 exemptions)

NTU: Master in Business Administration (Part-time: 2.5 years. Cost $32k)

Both need some working experiences, a good degree (Honours) and GMAT. They have direct entry into getting a CPA. I might consider furthering my studies after 1 or 2 years of working in PWC. Nowadays, having a degree is not enough as almost everyone can get one. So in order to differentiate yourself, it would be better to go for post-graduate studies. Anyway, my main reason for wanting to pursue further education is to increase my chances of teaching in teritary education.

Right now, school is almost coming toward the end. It is already week 10 of my final semester. In another 5 weeks time, it will be the end of the semester!!! Next year, I will be joining the workforce in Raffle Place. Every morning rush and squeeze with everyone in the MRT to work. (Sound so sian) And I have to wear working clothes. No more t-shirt and jeans and slippers. Sobz...I hate to wear heels as I always get blisters.

I realised that I am getting fatter. I got 3 tyres at my tummy area!!! and my arms are getting so flabby!!! I really need to push myself to do some exercises. I have been so lazy recently. No energy to jog in the park at all. Maybe later this evening, I should go jogging. Hopefully, it won't rain.

Isn't he adorable? 2 days ago, he just turn 1 month old. His hair is really thick. I think much much thicker than mine. Sooooooooo envy!!!

Anyway, today I got no school. So now I am slacking at home trying to do some studying and projects. I can't imagine in a few weeks time, I will be leaving SMU. Gonna graduate soon!!! Time really passes by so fast.

Till now I have yet to confirm my graduation job. But looking at the current situation, most likely I will be accepting PWC and work in corporate tax. Sound quite boring ya? Although the starting pay is low, I feel that there is potential for career advancement and learning. I must think long term. I shall try to endure in the company for about 5 years and get a CPA and maybe MBA by then. Thereafter, I might work in a bank in either finance or accounting; or I can try to teach in teritary education. So that's my plan so far.

I also want to buy a dog when I graduate. WZ was suggesting the possibility of buying a pair of dogs so that they can have each other as companion. That sound like a good idea but it would be expensive (cost of the dogs, grooming, food etc) and also not easy to handle 2 dogs at one shot. We shall see. But I am quite excited about that idea. I always want to have a doggies to cuddle since young but my mum is afraid of dogs so we never have a chance to buy one. Sobz....

Today early in the morning, I helped my mum to transfer my brother computer to another desk. It took my mum and I almost the mornining to do that as we have to wipe the dust, unplug the wires, reconnect the wires and so on. What pissed me off is that my brother is totally ignorant about it. He just sat there and play his chinese chess. Haiz!

Anyway. after fixing the computer I went for lunch with my mum downstairs and thereafter we continued to clean the house. I was so tired and fell alseep after the cleaning. When I woke up, I realised that I have slept the whole afternoon! I intended to take a short nap actually.

I have a facial appointment with New York Skin Solution at 7 pm so I didn't have time to study. The facial today was soso. My consultant did not attend to me. It was another lady called Joanne. She is from China. She is quite friendly but I find that she is kinda rushing here and there which made me quite stress up. Sobz...

Actually, so far, I still prefer the facial at Face Affair at Bt Panjang. The beautician spent about 2.5 hours on me and I think she did a very good job. My face was super clean and smooth. Just that when she squeezed my blackheads, it was super painful and after the facial my face looks swollen. But overall effect is good. I can feel that my skin is very very clean. I might consider going back there after I finish my package with New York Skin.

Today is my cousin's baby 1st month. Before I went out for my facial, I went to my cousin's house to help him to collect the facial voucher from my aunt and also at the same time to visit the baby. The baby's name is Joshua. He had a hair cut today. Looks so cute. I am so envy about his hair as it is very thick. I shall post some pics of the baby next time when I get hold of some pics from my cousin.

New Updates

I haven't been writting my blog for ages as I have been so busy recently. Getting quite overwhelmed by projects and tests.

Some updates on what's happening in my life:

ONE I have added Facebook. It is very fun! I am so addicted to it now. I practically spend at least 30 min on it everyday.

TWO Job issue. So far I have gotten job offers from PWC as corporate tax associate and Bank of China as retail banking customer service officer. Both pay is in the $2k range. PWC pay offer is in the lower range while BOC's is in the higher range. I was actually hoping to get a job with at least $3k. Maybe I am demanding too much. Sobz... I am really confused about what I should do. In terms of job prospect, I would think that PWC is better than BOC but in terms of pay BOC would be better. There are a lot of issues to consider when deciding on a person first job. Maybe I should try to assess each company pros and cons.

Today, I went to PWC to get the job contract at 3 pm. There is a huge stack of papers for me to read through before committing. After getting the contract, I went to BOC to visit my ex-colleagues and bought them some cakes to eat. It is quite sad that my direct manager has already left the company. There is not much changes to department I used to work in except that there are 2 new staffs. The senior manager, Seline asked if I am interested to work in BOC. I seriously need to consider.

THREE There is no news from MOE. I went for primary teaching position interview about 2 weeks ago. It was a panel interview with 3 people. They told me that they will give me a reply by phone and letter within 15 days from the interview date but I haven't recieved anything yet. Hoepfully, I will get a reply soon.

FOUR Previously, Credit Suisse rejected me for my perm job application in Product Control but a few days later they sent me an email asking me to seat for stage 1 of the recruitment process. It will be a 3 hrs technical written exam next wed. Unfortunately, I have lesson on that day and I can't skip the class as I will be doing a presentation for that module. I emailed the HR but he said there is no other slots for the exam. Seem like no hope for Credit Suisse. Sobz....

FIVE 1 month after my job application, DBS replied me and asked me to proceed to the next stage which is online test. I have to do both verbal and math. I was too nervous and I don't think I did well for the online tests. There goes my chance. Btw, I applied for retail banking associate with DBS. (Something I really like)

SIX I got back 2 of my mid-term test results. For strategy, I got 13/15 (Above average - 11) and for Equity I got 82/100 (Below average - 83). I think I got to work very hard for my equity. SOb SOb. Everyone is sooo competitive. I don't know how to score for this module.

PS: Today, I met up with QiaoQin and Huiyue for dinner and shopping at Marina Square. It has been quite some times since I last catched up with them. We had a great time today. =)

Stress Stress Stress!!!

I am gonna breakdown soon. Feeling so stress as there are endless things to do. This week I have my strategy mid term on Thursday. Next week and the following are worst. tests, assignments, projects and presentation. Can hardly breathe. Moreover, I am also very worried about my job application. Only yesterday I realised that I made a stupid mistake in my resume and I have sent it out to 5 companies. I think I have blow my chances. Sobz! Today I am trying to do the numerical test for Barclays but the program got hang. I emailed the technical support team and recruitment person but they didn't response to me. Haiz. So sian. Anyway, he also did the test and he told me it is quite tough. So maybe I should just forget about Barclays as it is really stressing me out.

Here's the companies that I have completed my application:

1) EY - Auditor
2) Credit Suisse - Product Control
3) OCBC - Retail Banking
4) DBS - Retail Banking
5) Accenture - Business Consultant
6) MOE - Teacher

Only the last one i did my application correctly. If I don't get any job offer from these companies. I would probably wait till I graduate then apply for a job. These applications are so tedious and tme consuming. The worst thing is you put in so much effort in them but don't get any reply. Sad case.

I think I really need to calm myself down or else I gonna get a heart attack. Breathe breathe breathe...1...2....3.....

I think I gonna treat myself to a good facial and herbal hair treatment 3 weeks later.

I am getting busier and busier. There are so many things to do - I need to attend career talks, apply for jobs, prepare for interviews, read my textbooks, study for tests, do projects....Kinda overwhelm by the workload. It is piling up.

My greatest concern this semester is how to secure a good job. I am so worried that no compay wants to hire me. (Sob sob)

Last week, I have been to Barclays Capital career talk. The presentation wasn't that impressive but I love the remuneration and training programme that they offer. Selected graduated are given an opportunity to go through a one to two months of intensive training in UK (I find it really pretigious). Also the salary they offer is good. From $3500 onwards depending on your position. Looking through the jobs opening, I find that the most suitable position would be operation. I should be applying for this position in Barclays considering they have good training programme and good pay.

I have also plans to apply for other companies. In fact, yesterday I just applied for OCBC Management Trainee Programme. This job is something that I like more. I chose to be in the consumer banking division. Hopefully I can get it. Praying hard.

Today I went out with my mum for hair loss treatement as recommended by Qiaoqin. The place is really far - Pasir Ris. But I desperately need a remedy for my hair loss problem so I went there despite the long distance. The treatement lasted for about 1.5 hrs. Mine cost $28 and my mum's cost $23. We also bought a hair shampoo which is recommended by the aunite for $20. Hopefully it will prevent my hair condition from getting worst.

Oh yeah. I also cut my hair today. It is quite short - Above shoulder length. No choice. I need to keep my hair shorter so that it is easier to manage.

A Malay Wedding

Today I attended a Malay wedding with my mum and sister. We were invited by our old neighbour. It was her grandson's wedding. The bridegroom is only 18 to 19 year old. (Very young indeed but I supposed it is quite common for Malays to get married early).

The wedding is held at the void deck of a HDB flat. We reached there at 12 noon. What I find special about Malay Wedding is that there is no fixed time that we have to attend the ceremony. We can be there anytime between 11 am and 5 pm. When we arrived at the venue, it was already filled with people. I was quite surprised to see many Chinese guests and also some old neighbours. It was nice to see that everyone mix well and that we could get along with one another. The host (my old neighbour) is really hospitable and friendly. She greeted us warmly and chatted with my mother.

My sister and I love the buffet there. I find their cooking really good. We ate like gluttons (totally disregarding our images...Haha...kinda 'throw face'). We went off before the start of the actually wedding ceremony because my sister had to rush off for tuition. Kinda wasted as I wanted to see how pretty the bride is.

Today is our 17th months anniversary. It is quite easy to remember our anniversary date as it falls on the 1st of every month. We got together on the 1st of April last year which is also April Fool Day. (Kinda coincidental..Haha...) Our very 1st month anniversary was very memorable. He brought me to this restaurant called 'Secret Garden'. The food there is excellent, the service is highly commendable and the ambience is so romantic. We had candlelight dinner there. The boss of the restaurant served us. His PR skill is so good as he makes us feel very at ease. He even arrange for a group of musicians which comprises of 3 men with guitar, cello and violin respectively to play a romantic song especially for us. I really like that place. Highly recommended for couples to go there for celebration. Here are some pictures:

This froggy is a prize that he won in the Dreamland Theme Park in Thailand. He played one of those game stalls (Throwing arrows to burst balloons) and got this froggy for me. It is a little dirty around its eye area. Gonna send it to the washing machine soon.

Yesterday, I met up with Sijin for a shopping spree. We were supposed to meet at 6pm but she ended up reaching the place at 7 plus as there was a bad bad traffic jam. After we met up, we immediately rush to have our dinner as we are stuffing. We went to a noodle house on the 4th floor of Far East Plaza. Thereafter, we just hang around at Far East Plaza.

I had a new discovery! Sijin brought me to DFS shopping centre which is directly opposite to Far East Plaza. I have never been to that place as I thought that it is a place here tourists go. (I am so mountain tortoise!). Anyway, I love that place! There are so many beauty products such as Dior, Clinque, Lancome etc and they are much cheaper than the normal shop prices. Moreover, there are no salesperson around so we could play with all the makeup, beauty products and perfumes without any interference. We also went up to the next level which sells branded bags to look around.

After staying there for an hour or so, I felt so thirsty, so we went to Starbuck to chill out. Sijin treated me to a drink (red berry tea with no taste). We just sat there and chat. It was so nice to meet up with her. I always have a lot of fun going out with Sijin as she never fail to make me crack. Heehee...

Sijin went to Borders to do some books shopping before we headed home. It was a nice day out with her. Hope to meet her soon.

Wednesday: School day

I woke up around 6.45 am today as I had morning class. I felt so tired in the morning. Just wanted to Zzzz till noon but nevertheless I dragged myself to school. Today is my second equity lesson. It was quite alright and I managed to speak up in class! Yes!!!! At least I said something today. Heehee....It is so stressful when class participation is 25% of your overall coursework. I got to try to talk at least once every lesson. Gambatte to myself!

After class, I met up with him for lunch. We went to Taka food court to eat. Thereafter, I accompanied him to Kinokuniya to buy the 'Dummies guide to Middle East Conflict'. We shop around Taka and Wisma till 2 pm before we walked back to school. (As usual, he complained about the distance to walk back and he sweated like mad. Heehee...)

Oh yeah, I bought a brown cardigan from a new shop called 'Cotton On' at Wisma. It costs $19.95.

We had our first project meeting for the Israel minor presentation from 3pm to 5pm. After the meeting ended, we headed to Cafe Cartel at PS for dinner.

This is what I ordered. FISH & CHIPS Crispy fish fillet, fries & coleslaw served with tartar sauce. The fish is really deep fried. After eating it, I felt so sinful...

In addition, to the main course, we also top up $3.60 for free flow of breads, a drink and a soup. It was so filling. (His tummy bloated after eating it as he ate too much bread.) The total cost of the meal is $31.65. Quite reasonable for the quantity and quality.

After the meal, we went to the Cathay to watch my long waited cartoon 'Ratatouille'! It was such a nice show. I like it alot. I especially like the little mousey and his chubby brother in the movie. I had a great day today. Happy happy happy....

A Rainy Day

About School
Today is my free day at home. Actually, I realised that my school schedule this semester is quite slack. I only have classes on :

Wednesday 8.30 am to 11.45 am and 3.30 pm to 6.45 pm

Thursday 3.30 pm to 6.45 pm and 7.00 pm to 10.15 pm

4 classes in 2 days!!! That leaves me a lot of time to do other things.

I keep telling myself that since this is my final semester in school, I should study as hard as possible to get good grades but I am getting lazier and lazier. I am still studying my equity since last friday. I am slow like a tortoise. Haiz.... I need to start studying my other subjects and that include Strategy and Risk Management. I have asked him to help me buy my Risk textbook. Gonna get it from him later. I am quite worried for Risk Mgmt because it seems to be a really tough subject with all those 'chim chim' mathematical formulae and also because it is a module that is taken by quantitative finance student. (Their math are very zai) Anyway, I need to stop procrastinating and get started with some serious mugging!!!

Oh yeah...I realised that I have bought the wrong textbook for my Strategy class. =( That book costs me $42! Haiz...Now I have to go down to the library to zap the correct book. What a waste of my time, effort and $$$.

There is another module which I am taking this semester - Business Study Mission to Israel. Well, many many people are quite wary about this country including myself. The reason why I am going there is all because of him. If you ask me to rank my favourite countries among these choices: Israel, Paris, Japan and China. My preference would be

1) Paris

2) Japan

3) China

4) Israel

I am very worried about sucide bombers or any sort of danger in that country. My family is especially worried about my safety if I go there. I am also not particular interested in their history (so chim and boring), politics or culuture. There is no shopping to do there as their fashion is not what I fancy. However, since I have already promise him, I will have to go to that country. Anyway, I have already paid a deposit of $500 so there is no turning back.

About my Friend
I got a great news to announce! My friend, Fangqi is getting married.I was so shocked when I read her blog. I am so excited for her!!! Her boyfriend, JM is a very nice guy and I think they make such a cute couple. So happy for them! Heehee...

About some recent issues
Recently, I joined the capitalland competition with Huiyue and Huiying. It is a competition where we are supposed to come out with ideas on how to attract people to Capitalmall. The mall that we have selected is Bt- Panjang mall. I find that this mall is quite 'Wu Lu'. Not many people go there. We have been cracking our brains to come up with some creative ideas for the competition. Hopefully our proposal will be accepted.

Another issue is regarding the Standard Charted Run 2007. I am still considering whether to join this run. I intend to participate in the women 10 km run but I am not sure if I could complete the run. I have never run as far as 10 km. Usually I run about 3 km in the park. My speed is slow like a tortoise so I am afraid that by the time I complete the Standard Charted Run, everyone has went home. Anyway, I still have a few more days to make my decision.

My First Entry

It has been a long long long time since my last blog entry. Previously, I had a blog for my work and travel in Grand Canyon but I had not written anything ever since I came back to Singapore. That was about 2 years ago... Anyway, I have decided to start a brand new blog so as to keep track of my everyday happening. So here it is. My 2nd blog!

School has just started. This is the 2nd week. This semester is very special as it is my final semester. I will be graduating this year. So I need to make my last term in school as enriching as possible. Here are my last 4 modules in SMU:

1) Analysis of Equity
2) Business Study Mission to Israel
3) Strategy
4) Global Risk Management

I got to study harder this semester and hopefully I will be able to graduate with a good honour. Heehee...
